Summer outdoor decor is my next big project. I want to create a simple, yet cozy space, where I can enjoy the warm summer nights.

I already have some items (the sofa & table set), and some lanterns, but there’s always room for improvement, right? 

When it comes to summer outdoor decor, you need to take into consideration the following categories:

• Sitting area (tables, chairs, sunbeds, etc);

You might think this is weird, but….outdoor rug. Yes, you can have a cool outdoor plastic rug that is eco-friendly and withstands all kinds of weather. For the link, I used the 6ft x 9ft reference, but you can also get the 3ft x 5ft or 9ft x12ft, depending on your patio area.

I actually quite like the idea of an outdoor rug, it’s great if you have kids, or you like walking barefoot a lot.

3. Outdoor Dining Table with Iron Legs

If you don’t need a complete outdoor sitting area set, you can just get the table. I fell in love with this one because it’s a mix of wood and iron, and it looks great. It could be a great summer outdoor decor item for big, open spaces. 

I also love it because it folds up, so it can be stored away if you need the outdoor space or something else. Or if you want to keep it in the garage during winter. 

4. Outdoor Mesh and Aluminum Frame Dining Chair (Set of 2)

If you like the previous dining table’s style, you will like these chairs, too, they’re from the same brand (Christopher Knight Home). They actually work very well together, because the grey of the chairs is the same as the grey of iron legs on the dining table. The chairs also have wood handles, same as the wood of the table. They match!

I love this set of 2 chairs because it has a cool, dark finish. I would add colorful outdoor throw pillows to make it more cozy and friendly. 

5. Outdoor Throw Pillow in Sage Green Stripes

Green is my favorite color, so I obviously try to find as many opportunities as I can to incorporate it in my life. So obviously, I had to find something green for my summer outdoor decor. I really liked these Sage Green throw pillows from Amazon, the green has a more pastel, boho shade to it.

6. Outdoor Waterproof Garden Hanging Lanterns (set of 2)

Adding hanging lanterns, or any type of lights, actually, to your outdoor area, will make it even more special & cozy. 

These solar lantern panels are advertised as having double plug-in battery capacity than other brands. They discharge for up to 8 hours (no wires needed). They’re also waterproof, as they have a built-in silicone that is waterproof and dustproof, so great for outdoors.

I already have lanterns, but I would totally buy these ones, too, for my summer outdoor decor.

7. Set of 2 48in Mobile Wood Planter Box

I love this idea of having wood planters boxes as summer outdoor decor, mostly because it means more greenery in your backyard. This could be a great solution for small outdoor places. Especially if you want it to make it cozy and give it a garden feel.

You can use it in multiple ways. For example, one can hold decorative plants, while the other can have climbing fruits and vegetables.
