Spring is the perfect antidote for the dreary, sad winter days. The sun is out, it’s getting warmer outside, the trees and flowers blossom. It’s a time for change and improvement. 

While you can’t control what happens outside, you can control what happens inside. And one way of doing that, of preparing for spring, is to decorate. 

That’s why lately I’ve been on the lookout for spring decorations ideas for the home. As you might suspect, Pinterest has been my friend these last couple of weeks. 

I already ordered some stuff from Amazon which I can’t wait to put out. Also, luckily for me, I already have a spring decorations box in the basement, so I’m good to go when the time comes. 

Honestly, I’ll probably start decorating by the end of February. 

In terms of themes, this year I am inspired by flowers. Pink and purple ones, especially, with tones of green. That’s why I ordered a flower-inspired bedding set (see below) and a great wreath for the front door (hydrangea wreath, more info about it below).

But I am stuck for other parts of the house. So I made myself a spring decorations ideas list and I’m rummaging on what to get. I definitely need some things for the kitchen and living room. We spent the most time there and I want it to be an open, colorful, lively place. But I also think I could add some nice pieces in the bedroom and bathroom. And of course, let’s not forget the front door. I need options!

I bet most of you feel the same, so I’ve compiled a list of spring decorations ideas that you can get inspiration from.

SPRING DECORATIONS FOR OUTSIDE

First place to start decorating for spring is outside of the house or, in this case, the front door. 

I highly recommend getting a flower wreath and a new doormat. I love wreaths because they’re an easy spring decoration that you can use year after year. They are the first thing a guest sees when he/she comes by, and flowers are usually very well perceived by most people.

DECORATE YOUR KITCHEN FOR SPRING

When it comes to spring decorations ideas for the home, you have to consider the kitchen. It’s a place we all spend time in (sometimes too much), and one that should feel comfortable and functional. So why not decorate for spring in the kitchen, too?

The first thing I recommend are flowers or plants. Real or artificial. 

I must admit that I don’t really have real plants in my house because….well, I always forget to water them. So every year I buy at least one new artificial one. Just to make myself feel better, and make the house look better (or so I think). 

If you’re like me, you will understand. So here are two spring decorations ideas for artificial plants that you can buy right now for your home:

Small Artificial Set of 3 Plants 

This is a great set! You can put all three on the counter on a tray, or you can split them, and place them individually in different parts of the kitchen, like window sills and tables.

LIVING ROOM SPRING DECORATIONS

Another important part of the house that we need to decorate is the living room. It has enough space to play with and be creative. I love changing things up every season, and I do it by switching the throw pillows, by adding seasonal decorations and by using different candles or diffusers according to the month or the holiday. By doing that, you feel like you’re in a different home every couple of months.

This year I am sticking to throw pillows and wooden signs. The pillows attract enough attention to be visible and appreciated. And the wooden signs can differ in size and color, but the important thing is the message / image on it.

DECORATE YOUR BEDROOM & BATHROOM FOR SPRING

I have to admit: the bedroom and bathroom is where I run out of spring decorations ideas. It’s probably due to the fact that these two rooms are very classic and decor-free. And I love it like this. 

But I can add some colorful touches to brighten up the room. 

For the bathroom I chose a flower print hand towel set and a shower curtain:
